Forbes: Using Hypnosis To Be Better At Business

Expand creativity

When was the last time you felt in the creative flow? What are you working on now that requires you to expand your creative thinking? Tap into your inner wisdom and creativity and bring your best thinking to your work, your challenges, and your life.

Being totally engaged with life produced a mind state of flow. Hypnosis is a powerful way to enter into flow and to cultivate engagement with life. Hypnotherapy produces predictable breakthroughs in how we engage with life and how we bring our best to our creative endeavours.

Did you know that Nikola Tesla used hypnosis for many purposes? He would often build and test his inventions while in a trance state before building them in his workshops. Many other innovators and leaders have relied on hypnosis for their work. A few minutes online and you will find many celebrities, executives, creatives, and leaders who rely on hypnosis.

Improve satisfaction

Our thoughts create our experience. We have the capacity to change our thinking and therefore change both our experience and our circumstances.

Many people unconsciously carry around a heaviness of heart that tempers their experience of day to day life. And they are unable to find the source of that melancholy. Often it lies just below the conscious threshold. With hypnotherapy, we can discover what is at the root of our experience of life and bring light and insight into it, often with dramatic healing results.

Often in hypnotherapy, we start working with one goal in mind, for health or well being. Then, after several sessions, we begin to understand that the complaints or goals we have aren’t the deepest issues. When we uncover the deeper issue and find healing for it, often a cascade of healing occurs across our lives.

Our bodies carry so much information and so many beliefs that we do not choose and often are unaware of. Hypnotherapy can help uncover root causes and remove the barriers to satisfaction in life.

Remove inner obstacles

Do you ever find yourself unwittingly repeating the same behavior? For example, do you find yourself attracted to the same kinds of romantic partners only to have the same patterns unravel the relationship? Do you find yourself always missing out on a promotion or an opportunity, only to see how you thwarted your best interests and your dreams after the fact?

Persistent troubling behavior patterns and persistent mental states are often messengers of great power waiting to deliver their message and move from our bodies and our minds. In hypnosis, we can discover what the message of an inner obstacle is. We can “dialogue” with parts of ourselves and our body in surprising and healing ways.

Once we discover the obstacle, we can reprogram ourselves for a different pathway.

Unstick the Stuck

Creative block? Plateaued performance? Stuck in a rut? Our inner life often develops maladpative behaviors, especially in our younger years, that do not serve our adult selves. Originally the behaviors made sense to our developing minds and satisfied a legitimate need. However, as we age, those patterns of thought and behavior often become obstacles to our larger dreams and our potentials.

Hypnotherapy can help unstick the stuck historic patterns of thought and behavior, replacing it with the positive thoughts and behaviors we want to have.

Generate vision and action

What do you imagine for yourself and your life? Why don’t you already have the life of your dreams? Often, unconsciously we block our vision for our lives. Many of our blockages are below complete conscious awareness, yet we have an inkling that we can do better or that we are some how repeating the same patterns of behavior and thinking over and over.

The trance we create in hypnotherapy has the power to generate deep revelation and deep insight into ourselves.  Hypnotherapy can help you unlock your vision for yourself, your life and your work, and also give you insights on what has been in your way.

Reverse negative patterns of behavior

Often we adopt behaviors as long-term life-strategies to satisfy some legitimate need. However, as we mature, the behaviors no longer serve us, but we struggle to choose new behaviors. Often we struggle to eliminate or “cut off” a behavior without addressing the root causes of the behavior, the reasons we adopted the behavior in the first place.

We become our thinking. Negative self-talk and judgements often prevent us from having the lives we want to have. We find ways to “self-medicate” to try to get what we really want from life, but the strategy we adopted over time seems to undercut our intentions. Hypnotherapy can help end self-sabotage and eliminate negative self-talk. Whether in relationships, at work, in family or in daily life, we can program our subconscious mind to achieve what we want and how want it. We can regain a sense of personal power and learn to love our lives, our selves, and others. Hypnotherapy can help us overcome early childhood programming, un-helpful social programming, or traumatic experiences.

Enhance Learning & Memory

Our subconscious mind is the seat of memory. In stressful situations, like test taking or performances, our sympathetic nervous system often kicks in, making it difficult to access memory. Hypnotherapy can help you develop the ability to manage stressful situations and more easily access your memory.

We humans are learning machines. Our nervous system is marvelously made to learn and adapt. Hypnotherapy can help you optimize your learning potential. For pleasure or academics, hypnotherapy has a variety of tools to offer you to help you reach your learning goals. What is it you want to learn?

Health & Wellness

You are you. Your experience is as unique, and you are not your symptoms. Hypnotherapy helps you activate your body’s inner healing intelligence. Every physical condition and every behavior has associated subconscious programming. Therefore, every condition and every behavior can find some benefit through hypnosis. Hypnotherapy has been successful in helping with weight loss, blood pressure, smoking cessation, motivating exercises, improving eating habits, and much more. Science has demonstrated again and again the connection between the body and the mind, and with the advent of new medical technology, hypnosis is rapidly gaining standing as an effective therapy for many different conditions.

There is a lot of scientific evidence for the healing power of hypnosis. Click here for a listing from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) of research on hypnosis. The last time this link was updated there were over 14,000 published research project and articles available on hundred of topics.

Hypnosis is not medical care or a replacement for it. It is an adjunct to medical care. Please consult your primary care provider to clear that it is ok to use hypnotherapy as an adjunct to your medical care.

Catalyse prosperity

Our relationship to prosperity and money is often formed in our early years, and many people spend years struggling with money and its significance in their life. Our attitudes towards money and wealth often subconsciously sabotage our best efforts or make us miserable. Some never feel they have enough, have deep rooted fears of poverty that compromise their ability to plan for the future and enjoy the present moment. Retirement for some becomes a prison of boredom and fear. For others, a sudden windfall or an inheritance brings out their deep fears and makes them miserable. Hypnotherapy can be used to explore our subconscious attitudes towards prosperity and build happiness.

Constructively Manage Stress & Pain

Hypnotherapy used before a medical procedure has been scientifically demonstrated to reduce anxiety, reduce stress and decrease the length of hospital stays. The only question is: Why isn’t hypnotherapy used before and after every surgery and to help with every chronic condition?

Reverse trauma

Hypnotherapy’s utility helping to heal trauma is well established. Modern life is full of traumatic experiences that impact us in many ways. Sometimes, in the right context, the simplest experience can create waves of impact. A full-blown diagnosis of PTSD is not required to benefit from trauma reversal using hypnotherapy. And hypnotherapy is daily being demonstrated to be effective for people living with PTSD.

Hypnotherapy is not a substitute for licensed medical and mental health treatment. Hypnotherapy can be a helpful adjunct therapy. Please consult your primary care provider to clear that it is ok to use hypnotherapy as an adjunct to your medical care.

And More…

Hypnosis is NOT a panacea, and it is not a replacement for psychotherapy or medical care. However, for anyone with a desire to change their life, it has unparalleled benefits.

To get the benefits of hypnotherapy does not require deep, heavy emotional work like some therapies. You choose your own path and a hypnotherapist does not diagnose you. Hypnotherapy works with the natural functions of your mind and body. It works with your insights. A client is understood to be the “co-therapist” and doesn’t need an identified diagnosis or trauma to gain benefit from working with hypnotherapy. Everyone can benefit in some way.

For most, you can expect 3-6 sessions, and sometimes up to ten. Most sessions are between 1 to 2 hours, sometimes more. Please talk to me about your specific situation. I do a limited number of sessions with children. Please call to discuss.
